Cuba, located in the Caribbean region, stands as the most populous insular country in the region. Manufacturing is dominated by the processing of agricultural products. Sugar is not only the most significant export, but sugar-mill is also the largest industry in Cuba. Fishing is highly encouraged and it is among the largest industries in Latin America. The country has an abundance of natural resources and its nickel deposits are one of the largest in the world. Rich deposits of natural resources include copper, chromium and cobalt along with enormous iron reserves. Smaller quantities include salt, lead, zinc, gold, silver and petroleum. |
